Overview:

The Promotions Specialist plays a critical role supporting our Content and Distribution Partner Teams—combining strong analytical thinking and forecasting with hands-on campaign and operational execution. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at both zooming out to forecast performance across multiple data inputs and points of triangulation, and zooming in to manage the daily precision required to execute over 150 retail promotions annually.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Promotions Specialist takes responsibility from planning through execution, supporting retail marketing promotions across both digital and physical channels that best position BHN and our partner to achieve target objectives and maximum ROI.

Success in this role requires equal strength in strategic insight and operational delivery. You'll apply a structured, analytical lens to forecast promotional performance using multiple data points. At the same time, you'll be deeply involved in the operational engine room—budget tracking, asset coordination, reporting, and campaign execution across our retail ecosystem supporting major Australian brands.

This role requires someone with exceptional analytical acumen who thrives on triangulating diverse data sources—historical performance, baseline sales, seasonal trends, competitive context, and partner insights—to deliver accurate and actionable promotional forecasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Build granular, scenario-based forecasts for all physical and digital promotions, factoring in baseline data, seasonality, macro conditions, and retail dynamics to accurately model expected performance.
  • Triangulate multiple data points—including historical sales, category trends, partner feedback, and promotional mechanics—to create insightful, data-backed forecasts that inform promotional strategy.
  • Manage the planning and execution of 150+ high-volume marketing campaigns annually across digital and physical retail channels, ensuring timely delivery, brand compliance, and budget discipline.
  • Coordinate campaign workflows, calendars, documentation, and reporting  to ensure consistency, auditability, and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance; deliver post-campaign analytics and actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and internal stakeholders to develop and execute promotional plans, with a focus on ROI, fund allocation, and spend management.
  • Partner with the Finance Team to manage accruals, forecasts, and actuals; reconcile spend and track performance against plan.
  • Work closely with the Accounting Team on invoicing accuracy and timelines.
  • Edit and manage marketing plans, and track and report on MDF investments.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize multiple data sources into accurate forecasts and strategic business recommendations
  • Commercial mindset with a proven track record of driving performance through predictive analytics
  • Proven ability to manage complex campaign calendars and executional workflows
  • High attention to detail with strong task and time management under high-volume workload
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present data-driven insights to senior stakeholders
  • Problem solving, data analysis, and relationship management capabilities
  • Understanding of Retail Category Management principles (assortment, pricing, promotion, shelving, shopper behaviour)
  • 3+ years experience within a similar role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or tertiary equivalent (highly desirable)
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and solid proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with a can-do attitude and ability to work autonomously
  • Proficiency with CRMs, MS Dynamics Suite, and Allocadia (Campaign Management) also a plus
