Sales department of Japan is entirely responsible for Blackhawk Network’s Commerce business, and this department is also proactively pursuing cross-selling opportunities of Incentives business in the region.
The Sales Engineer will work with local Sales Managers to optimize engagements between local customers and our global engineering and infrastructure organization, both preemptively to minimize failures and resolve unexpected events, meeting contractual SLAs. This role will support the local sales organization to win new content and distribution partners, providing technical insight into BHN’s solutions, answering technical and operational questions raised by prospective partners. The Sales Engineer will own and lead the delivery projects for Japan business as a local PM.
• Work with Sales Managers to build commercial and technical proposals for new business opportunities.
• Understand and define the technical requirements and liaise those with BHN’s Product and Technology teams in Pre-Sales phase.
• Attend sales meetings/calls with prospective partners to describe the BHN solutions from a technical point of view.
• Own new Project Delivery Projects for Japanese market, following its project timeline and milestones and closely working with various involved parties: Product, Technology, Implementation, Accounting, Legal, and Customer Service teams.
• Organize and lead Marketing and Promotion campaigns, working with Sales Managers.
• React to incidents impacting Japanese clients and report the incidents to our partners in a timely manner, closely working with BHN’s Network Operation Center and infrastructure teams.
• Own incident closure for local market and ensure that appropriate response processes are followed, including timely troubleshooting, and making sure that local stakeholders receive agreed updates.
• Meet partners to explain incident response/improvement plans to demonstrate the value of BHN capabilities.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure and engineering teams to continually review and enhance infrastructure and incident response plans, extracting learnings from incidents, and adjust infrastructure and incident response to prevent recurrence.
• Communicate with partners to ensure they have received and understood communication from infrastructure / engineering business units.
• Exceptional ability to think clearly and structurally.
• Ability to influence, rally, and inspire others without direct line authority.
• Problem solving skills, especially under pressure.
• Fluent communication in Japanese and English.
• BA in engineering, computer science, or a related field 5+ years experience or equivalent relevant experience.
• Extensive technical knowledge and understanding of the organization's products and solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate post-sales procedures and best practices.
