We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive the design, development, and evolution of high-performance, accessible, and scalable web applications. In this role, you will shape frontend architecture, champion modern engineering practices, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and raise the quality bar. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams like product, design, backend and QA to deliver exceptional digital experiences that directly impact business outcomes.

• Contribute to the architecture and delivery of high-performance React/Next.js applications leveraging SSR, ISR, and code-splitting; establish and enforce performance and accessibility budgets aligned with Core Web Vitals targets.
• Define frontend standards and evolve a scalable, reusable component library (e.g., Storybook-driven); drive the micro-frontend strategy for independent team deployability and release autonomy.
• Shape API contracts collaboratively with design and backend teams; make informed build-vs-buy decisions and align technical roadmaps to measurable business outcomes.
• Establish and own the frontend testing strategy across the test pyramid (unit, component, integration, e2e) with CI/CD quality gates; champion observability, reliability, and incident readiness.
• Implement and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerting for frontend health metrics, error rates, and user experience signals.
• Design resilient real-time and progressive web app (PWA) user experiences using WebSockets, Server-Sent Events (SSE), and Service Workers for offline caching, background sync, and graceful degradation.
• Guide React Native integration strategies and maintain shared TypeScript models and business logic across web and mobile platforms.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate coding workflows, code generation, refactoring, and documentation while maintaining code quality and security standards.
• Evaluate, integrate, and champion emerging AI developer tools and practices across the engineering team; define guardrails and best practices for responsible AI-assisted development.
• Apply AI capabilities to enhance product features such as intelligent search, content personalization, and automated testing/code review workflows.
• Adopt and develop on headless CMS integrations for personalized, content-rich, and SEO-optimized digital experiences.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing sessions, design reviews, and code reviews; foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Contribute actively to incident management and blameless postmortems; plan and execute targeted tech-debt reduction initiatives aligned with sprint capacity.
• Participate in architectural decision records (ADRs) and cross-functional planning to drive engineering standards across the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience building production-grade UIs with React and Next.js; expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and solid Node.js skills.
• Deep understanding of web performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse), accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA+), and frontend security fundamentals (CSP, XSS, CSRF prevention).
• Proven experience with SSR/ISR rendering strategies, modern data-fetching patterns (React Query, SWR), and micro-frontend architectures; strong systems-level architectural thinking.
• Proficient with modern build tooling (Webpack, Vite, Turbopack), Git workflows, linting/formatting standards (ESLint, Prettier), and CI/CD pipelines for web applications.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive test strategies using Jest, React Testing Library, and end-to-end frameworks (Playwright or Cypress).
• Production experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and SSE; hands-on with building PWAs using Service Workers and the Cache API.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and CDN/edge delivery strategies with an eye for performance optimization and cost efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar); demonstrated ability to integrate AI tooling into daily engineering workflows for improved velocity and code quality.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with proven ability to work effectively across distributed teams and time zones.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React Native or cross-platform mobile development.
• Exposure to headless CMS platforms (Payload, Strapi, AEM or similar) and composable commerce architectures.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring stacks (New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, or Grafana).
• Experience building or integrating AI/ML-powered features such as intelligent search, recommendation engines, or RAG-based systems.
• Contributions to open-source projects or published technical writing.
• Experience with Adobe Commerce Cloud, Shopify, or enterprise ecommerce platforms.
