Job Description:

• Write clean, reusable code that’s easier to read and test
• Actively participate in all phases of software engineering including design, development, testing and production release in an Agile environment.
• Build products that perform, scale, are highly available and fault tolerant with automated failover capabilities.
• Contribute novel ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and improve Blackhawk systems.
• Collaborate with product architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to create great product requirements
• Participate in resolving customer problems effectively through new features as well as improving existing features.

Required: 

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years experience in software development. Solid knowledge and programming experience in Java technology and solid understanding of relational databases.
• Write efficient & maintainable code which meets code quality, performance & security requirements. Create design documents, code, unit/functional test, document & implement new programs & subprograms, as well as enhancements, modifications, & corrections to existing software. Collaborate with product owners & other stakeholders to create product requirements.
• Regular communication with cross-functional teams including product managers and senior developers on feature development and technical implementation. Participates in technical planning discussions and contributes to team development processes.
• Drives specific development initiatives that improve code quality and team productivity. Makes independent decisions on technical implementation approaches within defined scope while escalating appropriately. Demonstrates proactive problem-solving and process improvement in development workflows.
• Proposes technical solutions to development challenges and champions adoption of new development tools and methodologies that improve code quality and team efficiency. Contributes innovative ideas during technical planning sessions and cross-team collaboration.
• Demonstrates strong analytical thinking in complex development situations with competing technical requirements and constraints. Makes sound technical decisions with incomplete requirements using appropriate engineering frameworks and systematic analysis.

Preferred:

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including RDS and EC2 
• Experience with container-based application development using Docker/Kubernetes
• Experience with DevOps skills
• Web server optimization techniques
